A custom report belongs to whoever created it. Sharing opens it to other employees, who will see it appear in their own list.
How it works #
- Open the report, then its sharing option.
- Name the recipient employees.
- Save. The report then appears in their list, alongside the ones they created themselves.
Sharing replaces the recipient list, it does not add to it. To add someone to an existing share, reselect every recipient, old and new — otherwise the previous ones lose access.
What recipients see #
The report card shows the number of active shares, which lets you check at a glance that a sensitive report is not circulating more widely than intended.
Rights and scope #
Sharing grants access to the report, not to data the person would not otherwise be entitled to: the report list is bounded server-side to owner and shares, and access to the module remains governed by each person’s permissions.
Before sharing a report containing salaries or sensitive data, check that the recipients are meant to see them. Sharing is a distribution shortcut, not an authorisation decision.
