Three reports track staff movement: arrivals, departures, and the ratio between them.
Hires #
Employees who started or are expected to start over the period, as monthly bars by department. Future hires already recorded in the files therefore show up, which makes this an onboarding preparation tool as well.
Terminations #
Employees who will soon leave the company, as stacked bars. As with hires, the report looks ahead: it uses the end dates recorded, not only departures already effective.
Employee turnover #
A combined chart: monthly departures as bars, the turnover rate as a line on top. The two scales read separately — the bars count people, the line expresses a percentage.
What to take from them #
Hires and Terminations count events. Turnover relates those events to headcount: it is the only one of the three that stays comparable year on year as your company grows.
