A custom report is a table of employees whose period, columns and population you choose. Creating one fits in a single window, in three sections.
Identification #
- Name — required, 50 characters maximum.
- Description — optional, 255 characters maximum.
Period: the three report types #
| Type | What it answers | What you enter |
|---|---|---|
| Point in time | The state on a given date | One date |
| Timeframe | What happened between two dates | A start and an end date |
| Historical data | How the data evolved over time | A start and an end date |
The type is required and drives the rest of the form: choosing Point in time shows a single date field, the other two show a pair.
Content #
- Table columns — at least one is required. See “Choosing the columns of a report”.
- Employee status filter — also required. See “Filtering the population of a report”.
What the builder does not do #
There is no drag and drop, no crossing of data sources, no calculated metrics and no formula editor. A custom report produces a list of employees with the requested columns — not a pivot table. For visual aggregates, look at the system reports instead.
