Three reports describe the make-up of your organisation at a point in time. They answer different questions and are best read together.
Headcount #
Employee count trend and split by department. It is the most consulted report in the module: it carries both the chart and the table, and its columns follow the period you selected — pick a month and you get monthly columns, pick a year and you get yearly ones.
FTE #
Full-time equivalent, computed from weekly working hours rather than from headcount. Two half-time employees count as one FTE, where Headcount counts two. The gap between the two curves is the measure of your part-time work.
Demographics #
An age pyramid: employees split by gender and age band, the two genders facing each other across the central axis.
Reading them together #
| Question | Report to open |
|---|---|
| How many are we, and where? | Headcount |
| What workload does that really represent? | FTE |
| Who are we? | Demographics |
The Demographics report relies on the date of birth and gender held in the employee file. Employees with those fields empty appear in no band.
