Open the notification preferences #
Every employee has their own settings: one row per catalogue event, and three checkboxes — Dashboard, Email, Slack.

Know the defaults #
Dashboard and email are on by default. Slack never is: the column stays at 0 until someone ticks it, and a missing settings row does not switch it on either.

Connect Slack if you want that channel #
The Slack checkbox only does something once an administrator has installed the Slack connector and the employee is matched to their Slack account. With no match the message goes out by email — nothing is lost.

Pick the events worth a Slack message #
Only seven families of events can reach Slack: approvals (absence, expense report, attendance), document to validate, meeting, mention, on-call, on/offboarding to-dos, payroll review. Everything else stays on the dashboard and email.

Check the admin side #
The Slack connector screen shows how many employees are matched and unmatched, and the Test connection button names the exact missing permission instead of showing a generic error.
FAQ #
Can notifications go out by SMS or mobile push?
No. The only channels are the dashboard, email and Slack.
Is Microsoft Teams supported?
No. Slack is the only instant-messaging tool connected. Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID are Illizeo connectors, but for calendar / video meetings and the directory, not for notifications.
Are there severity levels?
No. There is no “critical” or “important” notification: settings are made event by event, not by level.
Can an employee switch a notification off?
Preferences are individual. An event unticked on all three channels produces no notification for that employee.
Can an amount appear in Slack?
Never. The connector strips amounts from every Slack message, direct messages included: an approved expense report announces the approval, not the sum. The email does carry it.
What does not exist #
No SMS channel, no mobile push notification, no Microsoft Teams connector. No severity levels and no event-to-level mapping. No quiet hours and no “do not disturb” window. No notification engagement report, and no preview mode to send them to yourself.
