Outsourcing does not mean losing control. Here are the traces Illizeo keeps month after month, and how to use them to steer a payroll partner on facts.
What you can observe yourself #
Outsourcing does not mean going blind. Illizeo holds no service-performance dashboard, but it holds the three traces that let you judge — and they are more reliable than a self-reported metric.
| What you want to know | Where to read it |
|---|---|
| Was the cycle held? | The date of each generated file version, month by month |
| How many corrections before the right file? | The version number: a period at version 4 was redone three times |
| What changed between two reruns? | The version comparison |
| Who changed what, and when? | The period’s audit log |
| Was the period reopened afterwards? | A revoked approval leaves its trace |
How to steer in practice #
-
Track the number of versions per month #
It is the most honest indicator you have. A period closed in one version is a clean period. Three consecutive months at three versions signal a problem upstream — often in collection, not at the partner.
-
Note the origin of each rerun #
Data that arrived late on your side, or a partner error? The distinction completely changes the conversation to have.
-
Hold the review on deltas, not impressions #
Arrive with dates, version numbers and comparisons. A service review that opens with “it feels like” produces nothing.
-
Handle failures where they are handled #
Deadlines, commitments and their consequences are in your service contract. That is the document that governs — not a target table published in a help centre.
What does not exist #
No payroll SLA dashboard in the software. No automatically computed error rate, no measured response time, no built-in satisfaction survey. No automatically triggered penalties or credits: what is owed on a failure depends on your service contract and the partner’s.
FAQ #
How often should we hold a service review?
Quarterly is enough while periods close in one or two versions. Move to monthly as soon as that stops being true.
How do we know whether the problem is on our side?
The period’s audit log says so unambiguously: it names who changed what, and when relative to approval.
Can these be exported for a review?
Each period’s files are downloadable, dated and versioned. That is the raw material of a service review.
What if the partner no longer suits us?
The data is yours, in Illizeo. That is what makes changing partner possible without replaying a full migration.
