Illizeo modules (Absence management, Expenses, Performance, Training…) are installed for the whole company from the app store. Once a module is installed, you decide who can use it: everyone, certain units of the organisation or certain people. This article is for the administrators of your workspace.
Before you start #
- The app store opens with the “Dashboard — Application switcher” permission, in the “Dashboard” menu of the role matrix, Access level.
- Installing or uninstalling a module, and changing who can use it, require “Module activation — Enable / disable” at the Execute level (“Platform administration” menu, “Module activation” section).
- The Assigned people tab requires “Module activation — View” at the Access level. Without it, the tab is not shown.
- By default, these three permissions are reserved for the Administrator role. They are set in Settings › Manage Employees › Employee Roles (see Permissions & roles).
Opening the app store #
- Click your avatar, at the top right.
- In the Settings section, click Applications. The App Store page opens on the Illizeo Modules tab.
Modules are grouped in three sections: Installed for you, Available and Upcoming. The filters above them (All, then one chip per category, such as Time & attendance or Payroll & compensation) narrow the list to one category.
Each card shows the module’s status (INSTALLED or AVAILABLE) and how it relates to your plan: Included (part of the main plan), Premium (sold separately) or Included during the trial. When it is known, the number of active users of the module is shown.

The External Connectors and Collective agreements tabs, when shown, concern integrations and collective agreements: they are not covered here.
Installing a module #
- Click the module’s card in the Available section. Its detail window opens on the Overview tab: description, features and information (plan, version, update date, category).
- Click Install, at the top right.
- The badge changes to INSTALLED and the module moves to the Installed for you section.
On installation, every active employee has access to the module. It appears in their menu, according to their role’s permissions, and its card appears in Settings. The Configure button in the detail window opens its settings directly.

After the trial period #
During the trial, every module can be installed freely. Once the trial is over, a module that your subscription does not cover shows Subscribe instead of Install. The Subscription required window explains that the module is not included in your subscription: Subscribe opens the page for adding applications to your subscription, Later closes the window. The Subscribe button is only shown to people who manage the subscription (see Subscribing and changing your subscription).
Uninstalling a module #
In the detail window of an installed module, click Uninstall. Uninstalling is immediate, with no confirmation: the module disappears from every employee’s menu and its card disappears from Settings.
If you reinstall it later, every active employee gets access again: individual removals made before the uninstall are erased.
Choosing who can use the module #
Open the detail window of an installed module, then the Assigned people tab. Three counters sum up the situation: With access, Without access and Total employees.
By user #
- Stay on By user. The list shows every active employee with their position and department, and their status: ACCESS or INACTIVE.
- Find a person with the Search… field.
- Flip the switch on their row. The change is saved straight away.
Enable all and Disable all apply the same choice to the whole list at once.

By organization #
- Click By organization.
- Choose the criterion: Company, Sub-company, Office, Department or Team. Each unit is shown with its number of employees.
- Switch a unit off to remove its access. The unit changes to DISABLED.
By default, every unit has access. A disabled unit becomes a lasting rule: its current employees lose access, and employees created later in that unit do not get access either. Switch it back on to give the unit access again. A choice made person by person takes precedence over the rule of their unit.

Informing the people concerned #
Tick Notify by email before making your changes: each person whose access changes receives an email and a notification in Illizeo telling them the module has been enabled or disabled for them. The box applies to both modes, individual and by unit.
What removing access changes #
An employee whose access is removed no longer sees the module, even if their role holds permissions on it. Conversely, access to a module grants no permission on its own: what each person can do in the module always depends on their role’s permissions.
Special modules #
- Projects has neither an install button nor an access setting: it is enabled as soon as Expenses or Attendance is installed, and its access follows those two modules. Its detail window says so with the message Automatically managed module.
- Other modules have no install button: their status follows your subscription. Their access can still be set person by person.
- A module in the Upcoming section is not yet open on your workspace: its detail window shows Coming soon, with no button.
- Some modules are reserved for specific roles, for example the Administrator role. The Assigned people tab then only lists the people who hold that role, labelled Linked admin (directly linked to the role) or Admin by population (holds it through the role’s criteria).
Good to know #
- Uninstalling applies to the whole company and has no confirmation: to withdraw a module partially, remove access by unit or by person instead.
- The settings screens of a module that is not installed cannot be opened, not even by their address.
- For the mobile app, a separate setting decides which modules are offered on phones (see Mobile app).
FAQ #
No Install button appears. #
Check that you hold “Module activation — Enable / disable” at the Execute level. If a yellow banner says the module status could not be loaded, check that you are on your workspace’s own address, then sign in again.
An employee cannot see an installed module. #
Open the module’s Assigned people tab: they may be INACTIVE, individually or through their unit’s rule. Otherwise, check their role’s permissions on the module.
