Your employees’ dashboard is put together from a single screen: which widgets exist and who sees them, in which order and at which size for each role, which quick actions are offered, and which covers are available. This article is for administrators. Publishing announcements, the fifth tab of the same screen, is described in Publishing an announcement on the dashboard, in the Alerts & notifications section.
Before you start #
- The screen requires the Dashboard settings permission (Platform administration › Dashboard section of the role matrix): the Access level lets you view it, the Execute level lets you save. By default, only the administrator holds it.
- Open Settings › Manage Illizeo › Dashboard. The Company dashboard configuration page opens on the Quick actions tab.
- A widget or action belonging to a module that is not enabled in your space is not offered.
The link with the role matrix #
Each widget and each standard action has its own permission in the role matrix (Dashboard section), for example Dashboard — Widget « My counters » or Dashboard — Quick action « Request leave ». The visibility set here and that permission are copied into each other: restricting a widget to certain roles removes its permission from the other roles, and granting the permission in the matrix makes the widget visible to that role. The Synced with permissions note under each row is a reminder.
- An item is also shown only to people who hold the permission for its data (also requires note): that permission is never granted from this screen.
- The Administrator role is outside the sync: its permissions never change through this screen.
- If your own role could not grant a permission in the matrix, a save that would grant it is refused.
The Widgets tab #
The table lists every widget, grouped into KPI (the company indicators), Pilotage, Personnel and Social. For each one:
- Under Visibility, choose the roles that see it.
- Use the Enabled toggle to remove it from everyone’s dashboard.
- Click Save. The message “Widgets saved” confirms it.

The Recruitment widget and those of the Scheduling, Flex Office, Budget, BDESE and Annualisation modules are initially visible only to the administrator: to open them to your employees, choose the roles concerned in their Visibility column, or grant their permission in the role matrix.
The Layout tab #
Without any setting, each person gets the default layout for their profile (employee, manager, HR, payroll or leadership). A layout saved for a role replaces it for the holders of that role.
- Open the Layout tab and choose a role under Configured role / group.
- In the Palette on the right, click the + of the widgets to add.
- Drag the widgets by their handle to order them; choose each one’s size: SM, MD, LG or XL (full width). The cross removes a widget from the layout.
- Repeat for other roles if needed, then click Save. The message “Layout saved” confirms it.

Illizeo itself places each widget in My view or Workspace according to its nature. A size a widget cannot take is ignored: it keeps its usual size. The KPI cards in the palette have no effect in a layout: their display is set in the Widgets tab.
The Quick actions tab #
This tab sets the shortcut strip on the dashboard. It is currently displayed largely in French in the English interface; the labels below are quoted as they appear.
- Quick actions banner — visible to: the roles that see the whole strip. This setting is copied into the Dashboard — Quick actions permission.
- Actions standards: the actions supplied by Illizeo (Request leave, Expense report, My team…), with their Visibility and their Enabled toggle. Each change is saved immediately. An action that leads to data entry (for example Objective) is only shown to roles holding its permission at the Execute level: the row says so.
- Actions personnalisées: your own tiles, with the pencil to edit them and the bin to delete them.

Creating a custom action #
- Click Nouvelle action.
- Under Visuel de la tuile (tile visual), choose Icône Lucide (an icon, a Couleur du fond background colour and a Couleur du trait line colour) or Image custom (JPG, PNG, SVG or GIF, 2 MB at most).
- Enter the Titre (title, 30 characters at most) and, under Traductions du titre, its English version.
- Enter the URL (starting with http or https, always required) and the Type d’ouverture (opening type): Open in same tab, Open in new tab or Open in new window.
- Under Visibilité, choose the roles or groups that will see the tile.
- Under Type de contenu (content type), leave URL for a simple link, or choose Texte, Image, Vidéo or Document: the tile then opens a window presenting that content.
- Check the Preview, then click Save.

The row’s Enabled toggle shows or hides the tile without deleting it.
The Covers tab #
The cover library feeds the Catalog tab your employees see when they click Change cover. The Total, Catégories and Verrouillées (locked) counters summarise it. This tab is also displayed in French.
- Ajouter une image (add an image): upload a file or paste a URL, give it a name and a Catégorie, then Ajouter.
- Gérer les catégories (manage categories): create, rename, reorder or delete categories; deleting a category that still contains images asks you to choose the one that receives them.
- On each image, the star makes it the default image (PAR DÉFAUT badge) and the padlock locks it (VERROUILLÉE badge).
The default cover is shown to anyone who has not chosen one. Once locked, it is imposed on everyone: the Change cover button disappears from the dashboard.
Good to know #
- A widget or standard action left without restriction is only shown to roles that hold its permission in the matrix.
- For widgets, layouts and standard actions, restrict by role: the groups offered in the lists are not taken into account there. Groups only apply to custom actions.
- A custom action left without any role or group is shown on no dashboard.
- At most ten actions can be active among those saved in the tab, including standard actions whose setting you have changed: beyond that, a new custom action is created disabled and enabling it fails.
- If a person holds several roles that each have a layout, the first layout saved applies.
- The bin on a cover deletes it immediately, without asking for confirmation.
FAQ #
I enabled a widget, but my employees cannot see it. #
Check three things: its permission in the role matrix (choose the roles under Visibility to grant it to them), the permission for its data (also requires note), and, if a layout is saved for their role, that the widget is in it.
How do I return to the default layout for a role? #
Remove all widgets from its layout in the Layout tab and save: an empty layout is treated as absent, and the role gets the default layout back.
