You choose for yourself what reaches you and through which channel: in the Illizeo bell, by email, as an alert on your device and, depending on your company, in Slack or Microsoft Teams. This article describes your notification preferences and how to turn on browser alerts. It is for all users.
Before you start #
- No particular permission is needed: everyone sets their own preferences.
- Open your account menu (your photo or initials, at the top right), then Personal Settings, Notifications tab.
- The table only shows the events of the modules activated in your space that your role gives access to.
The notification table #
The table has one row per event, grouped by family: Approvals and workflow, Payroll and attendance, Expenses, Documents, Collaboration, Talent, Organisation, Flex office. One column per channel:
| Column | What it sets |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | The notification in the Illizeo bell. |
| The email sent to your address. | |
| Slack | The message in Slack. The column only appears if your company has connected its Slack workspace. |
| Push | An alert on your device, relaying the bell notification. The box can only be ticked if Dashboard is ticked. |
| Teams | The message in Microsoft Teams. The column only appears if your company has connected Teams and turned on notifications or approvals there. |

Choosing your notifications #
- Tick or untick the boxes you want.
- Click Save changes, which appears as soon as you change something.
As long as you have not touched a box, it follows your company’s default setting. Without a company setting, Dashboard, Email and Teams are ticked; Slack and Push are unticked: those two channels only concern you if you choose them.
Restore defaults, next to Save changes, ticks Dashboard, Email and Teams again and unticks Slack and Push on every row; locked boxes keep the value set by your company. Check the result, then save.
Greyed-out boxes #
Your company can lock a box. It is then greyed out, and its tooltip says why:
- ticked and greyed out: “Required by your company — this one cannot be switched off.”;
- unticked and greyed out: “Disabled by your company — this one cannot be switched on.”.
In the Push column, a greyed-out box on a row where Dashboard is unticked only means that you must tick Dashboard first.
Turning on browser alerts #
The Browser alerts card, above the table, decides whether this device shows alerts. It is set once per browser and per device.
- Click Turn on.
- Accept the browser’s permission request.
- Read the status shown: On for this device., followed either by “This device also receives alerts when Illizeo is closed.” or by “Alerts appear only while an Illizeo tab is open on this device.”.
- Click Send a test: a test alert appears if everything works.

Only the events ticked in the Push column create an alert. The alert only says that you have a new notification: the details are read in the bell. Turn off switches alerts off on this device.
If you refused the permission, the browser does not ask again: the card says so, and you must allow Illizeo again in the browser settings. On iPhone and iPad, alerts only appear while an Illizeo tab is open.
Microsoft Teams and Slack #
- The Teams column only works if your Microsoft account is linked to Illizeo. Otherwise, a message below the table says so: your administrator links it through the Entra directory sync or Entra sign-in.
- The Slack column appears as soon as your company has connected its Slack workspace.
Recruitment #
If you have access to Recruitment, the Recruitment — events block below the table lets you choose the recruitment events that concern you. The channels are set in the table, on the Recruitment row.
Good to know #
- Security, consent and billing messages are always sent and are not listed in the table.
- Your preferences apply to all your devices. Only browser alerts are set device by device.
- If the administrator has disabled an email for the whole company, ticking Email does not make it go out (see Automated emails: catalogue and activation).
- Unticking Dashboard removes the event from the bell, and therefore from your alerts too.
FAQ #
I ticked Push but receive no alert. #
Check that Dashboard is ticked on the same row, that the Browser alerts card shows On for this device., then try Send a test.
I cannot tick a box. #
Hover over it: its tooltip says whether your company has locked it, or whether you must tick Dashboard first (Push column). Only an administrator can lift a lock (see Setting company notification defaults and locks).
