Training and skills, from gap to certificate

An LMS and a skills framework built into the HRIS: skills gaps reveal training needs, employees request and follow their training, trainers run their sessions, HR manages the plan, the budget and certifications. Data comes straight from the employee record, with no double entry.

Four spaces, one module

Everyone sees what concerns them: learner, trainer, training manager and administrator.

For me

The employee

Their learning path, requests, catalogue, lessons in progress, skills, certifications and attendance certificates.

Deliver

The trainer

Their sessions, preparation, attendance sheets and declared hours.

Manage

The training manager

The annual plan, tracking and analytics, budget and purchasing, certifications and the skills matrix.

Administer

The administrator

The catalogue, history import, paperwork, regulatory reporting and settings.

From skills gap to certification

Every step has an owner; reminders and certificates go out on their own.

  1. 1

    Skills gap

    ManagerEmployee

The manager sets the level, the employee self-assesses; the gap with the role’s requirement stands out.

  2. 2

    Request

    EmployeeManager

The recommended training becomes a request, which follows its approval workflow.

  3. 3

    Training plan

    HR

The training joins the annual plan and its budget, then a session is scheduled.

  4. 4

    Session & attendance

    Trainer

The trainer prepares the session and collects signatures, even offline.

  5. 5

    Certificate

    Automatic

Issued after the signed session, it certifies the hours actually attended.

  6. 6

    Certification & refresher

    Automatic

Expiry is tracked and a reminder goes out before it lapses.

Skills, measured against the role

A skills framework by role, organised in axes and rated on a shared scale.

  • Framework by role: each role carries its required skills and expected level.
  • Manager assessment and self-assessment: the retained level, who set it, and the employee’s view.
  • Team matrix: coverage by team and axis, and the gap between required and held.
  • Training recommendations: detected gaps guide requests and the training plan.

For employees

Training requests

Employees submit a request, which goes through an approval workflow. If it is declined, they are told why.

My skills

Their level compared with the level required for their role, and their self-assessment.

Catalogue and lessons

Courses, modules and quizzes, and lessons that resume where they left off.

Session schedule

Upcoming sessions, with seats left and locations.

My certifications

Certifications held, their expiry dates and the refresher training to plan.

My certificates

A certificate becomes available as soon as a session with signed attendance is completed.
