Before the first clock-in, you need to choose how employees will record their hours: hardware terminal, mobile app, web, geofence or QR code. Illizeo supports one or several methods in parallel, by site and by profile.
Available clock-in methods #
| Method | Best for | Prerequisites |
|---|---|---|
| RFID/NFC terminal | Industrial sites, retail | Connected hardware |
| Mobile + GPS | Field staff, construction, delivery | Smartphone + location permission |
| Web (desktop) | Office, remote work | Illizeo account + allowed IP |
| Site QR code | Visitors, temps | Printed QR at reception |
| Face recognition | High security | Dedicated camera + employee opt-in |
Step-by-step #
-
Enable the module #
In Settings → Modules, enable Attendance & Badging. The Attendance menu appears in the main navigation.
-
Define clock-in sites #
Create each site with its address and a tolerance radius (default 100 m). This drives GPS clock-in.
-
Pick allowed methods #
For each site or department, tick the methods: web, mobile, terminal, QR. You can allow several to give a choice.
-
Assign employees #
By default every active employee is eligible. You can exclude specific profiles (executives on flat-rate, for instance).
-
Pilot with a volunteer #
Have a volunteer clock in for 1 or 2 days. Check the result in Attendance → Journal.
FAQ #
What if GPS fails?
Illizeo records the clock-in in fallback mode and flags it for manager review. The timestamp stays accurate.
Is offline clock-in supported?
Yes, the mobile app queues clock-ins and syncs as soon as connectivity is restored. The phone clock is used as timestamp.
Are hardware terminals provided?
Illizeo partners with several vendors. Existing terminals (ZKTeco, Hikvision, Suprema) integrate via connector.
Can I enforce a single method?
Yes, by ticking only one method per site. Others appear greyed out.
