Family allowances in Uruguay

Uruguay pays two types of Asignaciones Familiares: AFAM Ley 15.084 contributory for private-sector employees, and AFAM Ley 18.227 (Plan de Equidad) non-contributory for vulnerable families (UYU 2,000–3,800/month per child). 14-week maternity leave at 100% + shared parental leave to age 6 months (half-time).
