# Create an HR project

Performance review redesign, office relocation, GDPR audit, new tool rollout: HR teams constantly run cross-functional projects. The Illizeo Projects module gives you the structure to scope them, line up the right stakeholders and track progress without yet another shared spreadsheet.

## Step-by-step

1. ### Start a new project

   In *Projects → My projects*, click *+ New project*. Start from a template (Mass onboarding, Process redesign, Audit) or from scratch.
2. ### Describe the goal and scope

   Set the sponsor, business goal, scope (departments, countries) and key milestones. The summary becomes the cover page of the steering committee deck.
3. ### Assemble the team

   Add contributors from the Illizeo directory. Each gets a role: sponsor, project lead, contributor, observer.
4. ### Split into workstreams and tasks

   The kanban board groups workstreams (Scoping, Execution, UAT). Under each, create tasks with owner, deadline, dependencies.
5. ### Plug in the relevant modules

   Link the project to employee profiles, documents or existing workflows. Actions are then automatically logged in the project.

## FAQ

   Does Projects replace tools like Asana?

For HR projects, yes: it embeds employee data, permissions and internal workflows. Illizeo does not connect to any external project-management tool: not Asana, not Jira, not Linear.

   How do I communicate with the team?

Every project has an activity feed and @-mentions. A mention can be notified in Slack as a **direct message**, provided the employee has ticked that channel and the Slack connector is installed. No milestone is published to a channel, though, and there is no Microsoft Teams connector.

   Can I track contributor workload?

Yes, the *Capacity* view sums estimated hours per contributor across all active projects.

   Can a project be archived?

Yes, from the project record. Files and conversations remain read-only for 5 years.
