# Configure notifications and preferences

Too many notifications and you ignore them. Too few and you miss the key ones. The preferences panel lets you filter what comes as push, email or silence.

## Step-by-step

1. ### Open Profile → Preferences

   Gear icon top right. *Notifications* section.
2. ### Pick by category

   HR approvals, team updates, birthdays, payroll alerts: push, email, or off.
3. ### Enable focus mode

   Time windows without notifications (e.g. 7pm-8am, weekends, leaves). Urgent items still get through.
4. ### Set the language

   EN, FR, DE, IT by default. 20+ languages supported if your admin enables them.
5. ### Pick the theme

   Light, dark, automatic per system.

## Notification levels

| Level | Examples | Recommendation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Critical | Payroll error, health emergency | Always push |
| Important | Approval to give, client request | Push during office hours |
| Normal | Confirmation, payslip ready | Email |
| Info | Birthday, team news | In-app only |

## FAQ

   How do I mute weekends?

Focus mode with Sat-Sun + evening hours. One-tap toggle.

   And during leaves?

When you submit a leave, the app offers to silence notifications for the period.

   Can my manager see I haven't read?

No. Read indicators are private.

   How do I reactivate after silence?

Turn off focus mode in Profile → Preferences. Immediate effect.
